This evening’s sky offered a lovely scene.

Mmm. Crepuscular rays.

Hint of 22° halo toward the top. Nice prism.

Emerging Sun.

Lovely sunset this evening gracing the Hill Country.

Pulling back out to 25mm (full image) yields a partial sundog or some sort of neat atmospheric refraction at right.

Tonight’s observing session was short-lived due to poor seeing and gusty winds, despite excellent atmospheric transparency. Regardless, I still seized the opportunity to grab a couple of afocal lunar shots. 10″ dobsonian and Canon 20D w/50mm prime.
